Before leaving the car park on a blustery October morning, Georgia Gmytrasiewicz, our student friend from Illinois who is a ringer in USA, was presented with a BOC club beanie as a ‘thank you’ for joining us and sharing her birding experiences with us over the past three months. Bristol Ornithological Club
The Bristol Ornithological Club (BOC) became a Charity (1205862) in 2023, was founded, in 1966, to promote, encourage and co-ordinate the scientific study of ornithology in all its branches in the Bristol area.
The Aims of the Charity
To advance education for the public benefit in ornithology and matters related to the
conservation of wild birds in particular within Bristol and the surrounding area by:
a. promoting and taking part in local and national studies and surveys,
b. supporting and assisting the conservation and preservation of wild birds and their
habitats through co-operation with local and national organisations
