Tuesday 16 April – Kings Wood and Wavering Down
April 16, 2019
The weather was wet, grey and gloomy. Thirteen hardy souls set off on what turned out to be a lovely walk in a variety of habitats. In total, 37 different species were seen, most notably a Redstart. Leaving the National Trust car park behind us, we journeyed upwards along the Mendip Way towards Wavering Down,

The Bristol Ornithological Club (BOC) became a Charity (1205862) in 2023, was founded, in 1966, to promote, encourage and co-ordinate the scientific study of ornithology in all its branches in the Bristol area.
The Aims of the Charity
To advance education for the public benefit in ornithology and matters related to the
conservation of wild birds in particular within Bristol and the surrounding area by:
a. promoting and taking part in local and national studies and surveys,
b. supporting and assisting the conservation and preservation of wild birds and their
habitats through co-operation with local and national organisations
