Despite the bright sunshine, the 24 walkers who set out from Hanham Mills were grateful to get into Bickley Wood and out of the sharp wind. The bluebells, wood anemones, and wild garlic were appreciated as well as a field of cowslips when we emerged from the woods. Many Orange Tip butterflies were seen. The

Bristol Ornithological Club
The Bristol Ornithological Club (BOC) became a Charity (1205862) in 2023, was founded, in 1966, to promote, encourage and co-ordinate the scientific study of ornithology in all its branches in the Bristol area.
The Aims of the Charity
To advance education for the public benefit in ornithology and matters related to the
conservation of wild birds in particular within Bristol and the surrounding area by:
a. promoting and taking part in local and national studies and surveys,
b. supporting and assisting the conservation and preservation of wild birds and their
habitats through co-operation with local and national organisations
